This brand follows the "Pimpin' Lifestyle". Being a Pimp is about standing on everything you do, living unapologetically, and embracing everything you aspire to embody. All too often people of color are made to feel that we have to shrink ourselves to be acceptable to society. Big Pimp Mo is a symbol of ambition, constant elevation, and self love. Here we embrace our true identities by living our authentic truth. We remove ourselves from people & places that ask us to "be less". The Missy 202 experience is a judge free zone of empowerment. If you take the time to acknowledge your achievements, process the lessons that come with life, move with intention, and know you look great while doing it, then baby... Welcome to the Pimp Society.

Our Mission
Life is hard enough without wondering if you've got "good hair" or not. We don't believe in the stigma that only certain hair textures or lengths are pretty. Healthy hair IS good hair. Self care is a luxurious necessity. Your physical appearance has a direct impact on how you feel and function. Taking time to disconnect, breathe, & refocus is crucial for mental health and productivity. Our hair needs a consistent routine to reach maximum health and beauty.

Navigating the Pimp Society
I understand I have A LOT on my website which can be overwhelming! I decided to create a mini guide to help you navigate. I wanted to create a website that is not only ideal for booking hair appointments, but doubles as a social media platform for all members to get tips & tricks, invites to social events powered by Missy 202, & so much more. It’s still being developed (sign up for notifications to the website!) so thank you for your patience as I figure out my process! I spent months creating this website & created so many unique features that you can benefit from if you know how to use them! Welcome to the Pimp Society.
Upcoming Events (Scroll up)
I am big on community! I aspire to create a safe space for self expression for all. I am always trying to find ways to give back to help my community by partnering with others for fundraising/ charity events. If you have an event you would like me to join (or if you’d like to volunteer at one with me) I post these events here. I also periodically put together my own events such as picnics, sip n paints, etc just to get everyone together. We are all human. Everyone’s going through something. Me? I don’t have support from my family in the ways I need. I work a lot. I’m breaking generational curses & building generational wealth. I am healing from past traumas. I am ok but that’s a lot. I found my ways to re-center myself. I want to share them. Your strong friend is probably tired too. We don’t do mental health check ins as often as we should. So I created a solution. Events to get folks out the house & around others that look like/ have the same experiences as us can go a long way for our mental health collectively. Come talk about it. Our don’t. It’s ok to simply exist in a space. Pull up to one of my events. Who knows? You might get inspired!

Michelle Outlaw
Natural Hair Specialist. Hair Regimen Curator. Barber
Hello! I am a licensed cosmetologist based in West Hartford, Ct. I am currently in barber school to perfect my craft. I specialize in protective hair styling & natural hair maintenance. I aim to break the stigma that coarser, curlier hair textures are hard to manage. I am committed to creating an environment for comfort, peace, and energy for constant elevation.
Being a member of the black community, I've come to realize how deeply our community is conditioned to believe our hair is a lot harder to manage than it is. Working in the salon made me realize how early it starts. While still in school, I had so many people apologize for everything about their hair from the length to the color to the texture... everything. I had a beautiful little girl with 4c hair sit in my chair. Every time my hand went near her head she flinched. My teacher repeatedly asked if I needed a different brush, different conditioner, or additional help detangling her hair. I had no problem detangling her hair, but I did feel upset because I realized this beautiful black child has repeatedly heard how "difficult" her hair is and will subconsciously carry those words. I took my time to detangle properly, adjusted my technique, walked through everything I was doing with the child so she knew how I was doing it, and before I knew it, I could brush her hair without the slightest flinch. This made me realize most people aren't as tender headed as they think, they're just used to getting their hair done by people who are either heavy handed or try to move too quickly. I think we've all experienced the rushed hair brushing our parents did, the one where your ears, forehead, and deepest thoughts were snatched into that bun! I say all that to say this... I love the curls & coils; I work with all hair types. I have always been big on making people feel comfortable in their skin, so I make it my personal duty to make people fall in love with their hair simply because it's theirs. If that means dyeing your hair electric blue or getting braids to your ankles, then hey, I'm all the way here for it!
Come as you are. My space is a comfort zone.
