Pimp Society: The Concept
So most of you know me as “Missy, she does hair.” Like yes hey boooo…. but no. I am so much more than just “doing hair”. Hear me out.. Your stylist may be fire (& I’d love to collab) but I have a huge vision. I won’t go into full detail (it’s in the works!) but when I say I am building an Empire… Walk with me.
Step One: Dual Licensed Specialist- Cosmetology & Barbering. If I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it right. I’m going to do it big so that being said… I don’t want to be told I’m not qualified to do xyz so trust I followed the right avenues, consistently educate myself, & hold myself to a strict standard. I aim for luxury. My space is a comfort zone. I am here to educate those around me in personal health & wellness. I provide quality salon grade products along with plant based products created by black business. If I’m promoting it, I stand by it. I made sure I did my research before I did anything.

Step Two: Traveling Stylist- I aim to help the collective. That means my vision needs to be accessible. Hectic schedules come in many forms whether it be inconvenient work hours, parents, elderly, etc. The point of my brand is to embody confidence by destroying stigmas behind textured hair. We all need to unwind and take 2 seconds to just maintain self because let’s be real… any day is worse when you know your hair looks terrible. But I got this cute braided bun? Gworllll *nail clack* “Life ain’t so bad is it? I look GOOD!” Maybe it’s just me but I can’t recall a time I didn’t walk past a window & saw my hair DID & wasn’t like ahahaaaaa *happy jig* In addition to this, I want to work more with kids. Here’s why. We are constantly saying a child is tender headed. Now while this might be true, chances are it’s hair trauma. Yea y’all might be mad at me for saying that but a lot of people don’t know how to work with certain hair types (regardless of being black, a parent, “always do it like this”… just hear me out).
I have worked with children who were “tender headed” but sat just fine with me. Was it easy at first? No. But it’s a PROCESS. Trust it. With consistency, I have been able to correct “tender headedness”. How? For starters I’ve taken child developmental classes to understand how children think/ why they react the way they do. In addition to that, I am a big sister so I was the one doing hair & comforting my baby brother through his hair cuts. Finally, I have my own sensory issues so trust me, I get it. Some things literally don’t feel or sound that great & it can be overwhelming. So I find a technique that works for the individual (because everyone deserves comfort). Please don’t take that to mean your help isn’t needed. You play a vital role in shaping how our youth grow up feeling about their textured hair. I am building a platform to address topics like this.
Let me wrap it up… I am aware there are a number of reasons why someone may not be able to come to the shop but I still want to give everyone the hair care solution they need. If I have to come to you, I do provide that service! For house calls, fill out the “House Call” application by clicking the link below or Select “Travel Fee” for any service listed.
Step Three: Expand. I aim to provide a space ideal for all things self care. This encompasses the physical, mental, & spiritual. I am partnering with other brands that specialize in crafts with aligning ideals. I created a page dedicated to showcasing these brands. I have highlighted both their personal achievements (because everyone deserves to be celebrated) along with their products & services.
